Treasury

 

The main focus of the Gatehouse Treasury team is to ensure the bank maintains liquidity in accordance with its internal requirements.  However, the Treasury also trades for its own account and for its customers.

In particular, Treasury implements and develops Gatehouse Bank’s business objectives as they relate to trading activities.  It creates and manages liquidity, market, profit rate and FX risks utilising both market opportunities and customer demand within limits defined by the Board.

Islamic Treasury products include:

  • Deposits (utilising the Mudaraba structure)
  • Other inter-bank liquidity products (utilising Murabaha/Commodity Murabaha or Wakala structures)
  • Cross-currency swap/profit rate swap

Gatehouse Treasury will also work alongside the Capital Markets and Institutional Wealth Management teams to structure competitive and attractive investment products for target clients, as well as providing profit rate and foreign exchange products to institutional and sophisticated quasi-institutional clients.

He has more than 15 years of experience in a Treasury environment, holding senior positions in London at Chase Manhattan Bank, ING and Danske Bank (as Global Chief Dealer), and joined Gatehouse after 5 years as Group Treasurer for Ahli United Bank in Bahrain.
