The Shariah compliant financial system has embedded within it a requirement for careful evaluation of risk in all forms. Gatehouse has embraced Basel II enthusiastically and was one of the first institutions to submit its application for authorisation to the FSA with a full ICAAP (Individual Capital Adequacy Assessment Process).

Gatehouse has already created market-leading and innovative systems and processes that are Shariah, Basle II and IFRS compliant simultaneously – a considerable achievement which is vital to building a market leading Shariah-compliant investment bank.

Head of Compliance and Operational Risk

Reza Zaidi

Reza Zaidi joined Gatehouse in July 2007 with over 12 years banking experience. Prior to this role, he worked for Barclays in the UK, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, including a 2 year assignment in the UAE where he was responsible for setting up and managing the bank's compliance, anti money laundering, risk and governance functions for the UAE and wider GCC region.

Head of Credit and Market Risk

Grahame McGirr

Grahame McGirr joined Gatehouse in January 2008 from Investec Bank (UK), where he was Head of Credit Risk. He has previously worked for Barclays as Head of Portfolio Trading and Head of Market Risk for its Private Clients and International business.

Head of Legal

Adil Hussain

Adil joined Gatehouse in April 2008 and heads up the bank's legal team. Adil joined Gatehouse from the Bahrain office of Norton Rose LLP, where he was a senior member of the Islamic finance team for almost three years. He has a wide range of experience in Islamic finance transactions and is widely regarded as a rising star "who is one to watch in Islamic finance" (Chambers Global, 2007)

Head of Finance, Operations and Settlement

Twalha Dhunnoo

Twalha Dhunnoo joined Gatehouse in September 2007 from Deutsche Bank. He was previously the Statutory and Regulatory Manager for Mellon International Limited and also worked for Ernst & Young for six years, leaving as an audit manager.
